CERT
skills should be kept current with regular and frequent practice if
they are to be effective and swiftly implemented when emergencies
arise. We encourage and provide recurring CERT training on the
second Saturday of each month.
Most
training is conducted at our facility, CERT City, located on what
used be part of the Ft. Ord military base, however some training
does take place off site. More information on CERT City may be found
here.

Search and Rescue and Back Board/C Spine training
We
started with C Spine and Back Board training. Our Instructor Richard
Hillbun did a fantastic job! We then searched a multi story building
looking for victims. We found one female in the basement with a
collapsed wall on top of her. The Team used their cribbing skills to
extricate her from the debris. Obviously she was in shock (as you
can tell by her pic) Next, we searched the upper floors looking for
a young girl said to be wearing pink, she was found safe hiding in a
drawer. All
in all a very good day!
